An opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer or Senior Associate (3–8 years PAE) to join the firm’s Commercial Property practice group, with a strong focus on compulsory land acquisitions. In this role, you will advise and represent landowners whose land has been resumed by a government or statutory authority, handling claims for compensation under the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986 and the Planning and Environment Act 1987 . This is an engaging role that will see you negotiating with and managing a wide range of key stakeholders, so your ability to build and nurture strong relationships will be highly valued. You will also gain exposure to a broad mix of work including: Leasing, adverse possession and owners corporation matters Business and franchise sales and purchases Drafting briefs to counsel Preparation of Section 173 Agreements Drafting deeds of release, indemnity and other related documents To be successful in this role, you will bring no less than 3 years of solid experience within Litigation and/or Property law, ideally with exposure to land acquisition matters. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the relevant legislation.
